A Haphazard List of Foods I Ate in San Francisco

Most of these foods were not eaten at restaurants, but were instead made at home by nice people for me!

From some Chinese place:
Scallops with ginger sauce
Tofu with broccoli
Beef with broccoli
Chow fun
Fried rice with shrimp

From a taqueria in The Mission:
A burrito filled with chicken mole, rice, beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and like three kinds of salsa (I ate it all)
Chips
Jarritos Limon soda

From an Indian ice cream place:
One large scoop, cardamon rose ice cream

Other stuff:
Scrambled eggs
Toast
English breakfast tea, several cups
Buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup
An avocado, tomato and sprouts sandwich
Homemade pizza, one with tomatoes grown in the backyard and one with broccoli rabe
Crackers with stilton and mozzarella cheeses ("known as 'the king of cheeses,' stilton is one of the few British cheeses granted the status of a 'protected designation origin' by the European Commission)
Two glasses of champagne
Several glasses of unidentified but very good white wine

The above is not chronological because I play by my own rules.

Did you meet Linda Ronstadt?!? France awards Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée a lot more liberally than England. Did you meet Gavin Newsom, Jerry Brown?!? Did you know that one of those two mayors is related to Joanna Newsom?

Did you meet Armistead Maupin?

I met Gavin Newsom on the cable car to Alcatraz.

Was he just terribly handsome? Did his leadership inspire you? Does he have a future as a governor? How soon do you see him playing a running mate to Barack Obama?

I'd concede that this is not food talk if it weren't for the fact that Gavin Newsom is just so scrumptious I want to eat him right up!
