Another Parents' Weekend

This weekend my parents visited, so I ate better than usual.

Saturday
House Blend of silver dollar pancakes (Bisquick)
Plastic cup of orange juice.
2 halves of Mattpod's Pepperidge Farms chocolate chunk cookies. He warned me they would be bad and he was right.

Dinner at Lucien (1st and 1st)
French bread with unsalted butter
2 glasses of Sauvignon Blanc
Roast Chicken with green beans
Flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. (This was the second time I have had this dessert there, and both times I have found it to be worse than expected.)
After seeing "Doubt" we almost went to the Rainbow Room for a drink after Christina jokingly suggested that and my parents took her seriously, but the line was too long.
2 five dollar Zantac 75 (I was very mad about the price, but it was an emergency. Usually you can get 50 Zantac 150 for 20 bucks)
1 PBR at The Black Bear (a terrible bar) so Harvey could hook up
No beer at Mumbles
2 Chocolate Glazed Munchkins from Dunkin Donuts

Sunday
toasted plain bagel with butter at Cafe Pick Me Up (9th and A)
hot chocolate
Chocolate chip cookie from the green bakery on 1st Ave and 13th that looks like a front for a drug dealer

1 Bass Ale in the lobby of The Palace

Dinner at Cafe Des Artistes
French bread with butter
1 glass Pinot Noir
Steak Frites with creamed spinach. I traded the spinach for Christina's asparagus. The frites were too soggy, but the steak was delicious. Also sampled some lamb.
Shared 3 desserts: chocolate layer cake a la mode, a Napoleon, and the Cafe Des Artistes Sundae.

Our waiter was very rude, but I think only because he didn't like us.
The decor was beautiful.

How much acid do you produce? My ex-girlfriend's alcoholic mother once took me to the Cafe des Artistes, but she was a horrible drunk and so we just had drinks instead of food. My drink was fine. I felt awkward.
