3.9.06 -- Grandma Dinner*
1 Cinnamon and Spice Instant Oatmeal
1 Orange
1 Axelrod Farms Vanilla Yogurt -- I've found that Axelrod Farms is my current favorite yogurt brand. What is yours? Also, what is your favorite variety? Mine are good old vanilla and blueberry.
1 Snack-sized ziplock bag of baby carrots
1 Pear
1 Chocolate snack pack pudding by hunt's
1 Glass pino noir
1 Crab cake on arugula with some kind of aioli -- This was good, not over-fried, actually tasted like crab
1 of Grandma's escargots
1 Hanger steak with shallot and red wine sauce and yukon gold potato cubes -- I almost never order beef not at a restaurant that is explicitly a steakhouse, and I'm not sure why I did. It was fine, but pretty unremarkable.
1 of Grandma's Scallops -- These were not cooked that well. There was very little crust on the sear.
1 Valrhona dark chocolate gateau with vanilla bean ice cream
1 Cup early grey tea -- In the end, this place (Alouette) was ok but not worth a return trip.
* FYI, about once a week or two, I have dinner with my grandma and this is generally when I get my best food, although it varies. She is a tiny hungarian woman, think Dr. Ruth but skinnier, who is constantly asking me to come fix her computer. This generally means that she has managed to delete the desktop icon and cannot figure out how to play solitaire, which as far as I can tell is the only thing she uses her computer for.

it's probably pretty clear by now that my favorite yogurt is dannon light 'n fit. my favorite flavor by far is raspberry. i also like strawberry and blueberry. every once in awhile i will buy blackberry thinking "surely now i will like this," but i never do.
