Orange juice
Banana
Iced coffee

H&H
Salt bagel
Everything bagel
Chives cream cheese
Nantucket Nectars pineapple orange banana - "Nantucket's Whaling Museum first opened in the summer of 1930."

Orange juice
Vanilla Silk
Taylor Fladgate fine ruby port
Fillet mignon heavily seasoned with sea salt and pepper, fried in peanut oil and unsalted butter, served in its own juices deglazed with port and several "coins" of roquefort butter (chilled roquefort pressed into butter with a modest dash of tabasco)
Watercress
Barilla elbows with Classico Mushrooms and Ripe Olives, garlic, and parmesan
Another glass of Fladgate

Blue & Gold - Tanqueray and tonic

Home - Dtour spritzer

I was a bit disappointed with my steak - I expected a steak with that much associated cachet attached to it to be better than the average steak I prepare for myself. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't awesome, either. I think I prefer roquefort off my steak to on. Watercress, though, is a great thing to eat. It's fun and easy, and according to Wikipedia, "...it acts as a mild stimulant..." and "...an expectorant." After finishing the steak and watercress dinner (which, by the way, cost me about twenty dollars in raw materials) I was still pretty hungry so I had a bowl of pasta which, one must confess, was at least as good as the steak. In conclusion, I suck.

The bagels at H&H are good.

Good call on the watercress, that stuff makes a lot of dishes better.

Where did you buy your filet?

Gracefully. Fillet mignon is one of about four cuts of any meat whatsoever that they seem to stock.

I've only shopped at Gracefully a couple of times. How does it rate in both price and quality compared to Whole Foods, and other decent grocery stores? I went into the Garden of Eden in Brooklyn near Schoboats the other day and it had a bunch of nice things.

Gracefully has generally good quality stuff. It can run to the expensive, and baseline prices are a bit higher than many places. Although, it's honestly no worse (pricewise) than many a D'Agostino's or Gristedes. Their selection is kept down to "better" foods, and it's a nice place to shop. Staple foods etc that don't need to be a cut above should be purchased elsewhere. If you are content to support your neighbors and the independent entrepreneur, then it has an additional advantage. Good idea: lunch at Nicky's, then go shopping at Gracefully. Because you'll be full, you won't splurge on crazy things. In conclusion, I like Gracefully.
